Villa GM by Architrend Architecture is a home that compliments the surrounding space, enhancing its usefulness in creating a desired feeling of peace and quiet. The Sicilian architecture studio designed a single-level contemporary residence that encompasses a symphony of spaces flooded with natural light. Located in the Sicilian town Marina di Ragusa, in southern Italy, the L-shaped residence welcomes family and guests with a thin folded sheet that acts like a red carpet set of stairs at the entrance.
Materials like steel, wood and glass were combined to create a modern and bold architecture. Treated larch planks by the swimming pool unify the bright look of the back garden. Sea views can also be enjoyed from behind the glass wall in the living room. On bright days, the distant island of Malta can be seen from the property – its silhouette rises from the waters in a successful effort to overwhelm the viewer.
