Defining a new kind of modern elegance, this stunning residence in Taipei City, Taiwan showcases an exemplary use of materials, colors and patterns that create a serene environment. Within the city’s urban fabric, this private space belongs to the realm of calmness and happiness. The original floor plan was modified to accommodate a new master bedroom, bath and dressing area. Throughout the home, new wooden carpentry in white constructs a seamless connection between the spaces.
By replacing the original small windows with larger ones, architects let natural light flood the pristine spaces. Mirroring surfaces visually increase the space, creating a liquid effect in the main living space. A small balcony was added to allow inhabitants to indulge in a little sightseeing while breathing in the urban surroundings. Designed by Taipei City-based architectural practice ATELIERII, the luxurious Residence Chang project can be easily considered a contemporary dream home.
