A comfortable bedroom is essential in any home as this is where we recharge and relax. Today’s dream home has a collection of sophisticated spaces that culminate with spectacular views over New York City and a fantastic white bedroom. From the comfort of their home, owners of this penthouse apartment known as the Picot Residence enjoy the lack of doors within an open floor plan. Pepe Calderin Design imagined a free-flowing movement through the sequence of residential spaces while enjoying each detail meant to put a smile on the owner’s face.

Neutral colors fabricate a tranquil atmosphere, creating an elegant design that was accentuated by the use of vivid colors as a successful attempt to break the monotony. Dark nuances in the cleverly lit living spaces contrast the pristine bedroom, adding an extra dimension to an already fabulous home. This cozy space oozes luxury through the use of straight lines and its intimate simplicity.

There are no spaces where light is absent and no corner forgotten. Details create an enchanting realm, high above the stressful city without loosing sight of it. Each furniture piece and decor item was lit according to an overall plan that infuses social and private spaces with a deep feeling of serenity. A hanging light installation above the dining table places the focus on aromatic get-together with friends and family, while the corner window in the living area reminds you that the city is just below. Everything in this home was designed to exude a private feeling of happiness to be shared only with the loved ones, but we’re lucky enough to join in the inspiration and take this beautiful home as example for our own.

You might remember another one of the studio’s works presented on Pursuitist: the Palazzo del Mare Residence. The same boldness in the use of colors can be spotted in both apartments, each dressed as to make its owner as happy as possible. Isn’t that what a dream home is all about, happiness?
