Modern apartments describe both the owner’s preferences mirrored in custom design and the designer’s strive to create a comfortable, inviting atmosphere. Creating an open and airy scene for a contemporary lifestyle with the help of colors and textures, Cindy Ray Interiors reshaped the social and private space of this luxurious Palm Beach apartment, creating an inspiring collection of spaces.
Most people only reminisce days spent contemplating the ocean but then there are the ones that get to enjoy views of the ocean as an inspiring daily routine. Bright and comfortable, this oceanfront apartment boasts views of the clear blue waters from the open social area.
Greeted by an elegant waterfall in the hallway, guests experience a reinvigorating atmosphere. The living room furniture shares the same texture with the column that helped shape a bar in the middle of the apartment, creating a delimitation between different functions and creating a visually open, casual living space. Inspired by the ocean just a short walk away, the vibrant color palette evokes comfort and subtle elegance throughout. Pearl-white Venetian plastered walls add new dimensions to the adding to the breezy feeling of pure comfort, while sea glass green and blue hues compose a stylized mirror of the natural surroundings. Hidden in the wood panels near the TV, one of the bedrooms combines natural colors – like seaweed – with deep chocolate hues. The master bedroom, on the other hand, displays sandy beige, white, blue and green in a feminine space flooded with natural light. Mirroring the design of the headboard, an actual mirror open up the space even more.
When described by the architects, the space defines itself even more: “Integral to the design concept was the strategic opening and expansion of the common areas to create a more spacious and comfortable warm weather residence. Custom-made moldings and millwork, storage behind every piece of millwork, hidden doors to access the powder room and guest bedroom….and the unexpected use of glass and mirror including custom architectural ceilings and lighting features were employed in order to assure that the artfully chosen and designed pieces on display are highlighted to maximize their influence on the environment. Custom millwork, mirrors, antique pieces and tailored upholstery outfit the Master Bedroom. The kitchen is a subtle blend of gloss, stainless, hardware, glass and stone.”
