Designing and building this fabulous home on the edge of a fantastic scenery, the architects behind the projects – Sagan Piechota Architecture – have managed to engage the surrounding environment in a relaxing, soothing dialog with the interiors. Overlooking the ocean, in Carmel, California, the Otter Cove Residence is not just another modern home – it incorporates the needs and desires of its inhabitants, comforting their souls and lifting their spirit.
Two undulating volumes, adorned with large glass windows capturing natural light and guiding it into the modern spaces, make up the building’s floor plan. Spreading over two levels on a sloped terrain, the house only shows one of these floors to the visitor at first glance, surprising them with every further step. The private cliffside allows family and guests to enjoy a fantastic scenery and benefit from privacy. Glass, stone, wood and steel were merged in a unifying design to shape the 10.000 square feet luxury property. Amazing both on the outside and the inside, the Otter Cove Residence is an inspiration when it comes to modern residential developments.
