Occupying a former warehouse in San Francisco’s South Beach neighborhood, the Oriental Warehouse Loft boasts a re-imagined configuration that transformed the industrial building into an inviting and collection of living spaces. Local team of architects Edmonds & Lee worked on this project that encourages a fresh perspective on domestic privacy, exploring open and visually connected spaces within the residence.
Glass helped define and connect the spaces at the same time, be it in the case of the mezzanine glass railings or the glass wall in the bathroom: “Opaque guardrails at the sleeping mezzanine were replaced with frameless glass guardrails in order to provide a direct visual connection to the living room below. A large over-sized sheet of transparent glass further eliminates privacy in the master bathroom by allowing views into and out of the bathroom to the rest of the loft beyond.”
Would you try this level of privacy in your own home?
