Located in the Santa Anita Golf Club of Tlajomulco in Jalisco, Mexico, today’s dream home is known under a simple name – the Mountain House – that showcases the challenges of this project from the very start. Designed by Mexican architects and interior designers Agraz Arquitectos, the contemporary residence rests on a sloped property, the last available one in the Santa Anita suburb. With a 12 meter wide street front, the home welcomes owners and guests with parking and pedestrian access to the highly contemporary interiors.

Architects explain the solutions they came up to make the property not only a comfortable dream home, but also a place where challenges become opportunities:

“The house sets into the slope making its topography inhabitable and this is how the project upholds in four levels: the first one for the automobiles, the next one for social areas (kitchen, living and dinning rooms), third one for main bedroom next to family room, and last, a fourth one destined for boy and girl bedrooms which have the most privileged views due to their location in the highest peak of the terrain. The four platform programme required a connecting element, which is why a long and windy stairway picks up each one of the floors, and in parallel, a diagonal elevator gives easiness to tough distances.” Mountain House by Agraz Arquitectos (3) Mountain House by Agraz Arquitectos (4) Mountain House by Agraz Arquitectos (5) Mountain House by Agraz Arquitectos (6) Mountain House by Agraz Arquitectos (7) Mountain House by Agraz Arquitectos (8) Mountain House by Agraz Arquitectos (9) Mountain House by Agraz Arquitectos (10) Mountain House by Agraz Arquitectos (12) Mountain House by Agraz Arquitectos (13) Mountain House by Agraz Arquitectos (14) Mountain House by Agraz Arquitectos (15) Mountain House by Agraz Arquitectos (17)
