This award-winning residence caught my attention thanks to its inspiring design details that can really influence someone looking for inspiration for a modern dream house. Named Meadow Creek House, this modern residential development overlooking Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains in Seattle, Washington, is part of Eggleston Farkas Architects‘ portfolio. Its prefabricated steel and PSL structure was assembled on site and adorned with stucco, wood and Corten steel cladding.
Caught in between a stream and hill to the south and western mountainside gently sloping to shape a beautiful location, this single family residence is a modern mixture of contemporary and Asian details, entangling to shape a customized dream space. Handcrafted Bubinga wood dining room table and chairs are showcased behind the glass end of a volumetric dining space next to the entrance. The private spaces on the north side of the house are protected by neighboring views and compose a comfortable, modern space for relaxation. If this house is too low (thanks to building regulations), maybe you prefer something like the Fort Ward Bunker House, part of the same architects’ portfolio.
