Signing the design of this luxuriously modern La Gorce Estate, Miami-based architectural studio Touzet Studio added another fantastic residential design to their portfolio. Located on La Gorce Island in Miami Beach, Florida, the contemporary residence imitates the basic layout of the Carl Fisher Estate, an 1926 property the client once owned. Interior spaces spreading over 16,000 square feet include three distinct programs – the main volume contains the living and resting spaces, the guest house welcomes visitors and the third volume is occupied by servant quarters, garage, secure storage, mechanical rooms and power plant.
An amazing spiral staircase flooded with natural light from above connects the levels to the top floor viewing platform. Glass and stucco were extensively used to shape an elegant architecture, while the luxurious interiors were kept minimalistic. The master bedroom cantilevers over the terrace, overlooking the reflective pool with spa and a strip of private beach and the sparkling water. This residence’s garden arrangement with the separate pavilion guarding a side of the pool reminds me of the North Bay Residence, also part of Touzet Studio’s portfolio.
