Modern suburban homes have been gaining terrain in our continuous search for comfort, privacy and family bliss. House 0614 is an example of this customized family lifestyle spreading over 399 square meters on a property in Nicosia, Cyprus. Designed by Simpraxis Architects for a couple and their two children, the modern residence displays a square shape on a rectangular site.
Social spaces on the ground floor are opened towards the surroundings via a climate control system – folding wood and metal doors, alongside sliding glass walls create a powerful connection to the outdoors, as well as a private space, depending on the inhabitant’s needs and wishes, all at the touch of a button. The upstairs private spaces were visually separated by a glass floor – on one side, there’s the parent’s master bedroom and bathroom, while the other zone is divided between the children’s quarters and the guest room. This glass floors allows daylight to penetrate deep inside the social spaces, creating a natural light path that pierces the downstairs internal courtyard. What do you think about this two story dream home?
