Spanish architecture studio A-cero is well-known for their sculptural architectural style. Today’s dream home is represented by one of their fantastic projects known as B&N House. Transforming an existing house on a generously sized plot into a contemporary family residence meant dealing with structural improvements that would upgrade the lifestyle of its inhabitants. The modern two-story home in Madrid was re-designed according to the owner’s wishes, both internally and externally.
Resting on a gently sloping sit, the south facade of this fascinating family home is dressed in aluminum foil, dramatically increasing the garden’s visual appeal. Flooded with natural light, the interiors are accessed via the top floor, where the bedrooms are located. This upstairs private space is divided between the spacious master bedroom with dressing room and bathroom, and two bedroom suites – one for children and the other one for guests. Downstairs, following the contour of the land, the social space is visually differentiated – the living space, dining area and TV room, alongside a reading nook by the fireplace make up a spacious living flooded with light from large windows and clerestory windows. The kitchen and service area complete this floor, while the outdoor swimming pool and deck extend the entertaining spaces outdoors. Dreamy/edgy, right?
