What do you do after your car wins both the 24-hours of Daytona and the 12-Hour of Sebring endurance races? You create a tribute car, of course.
Fresh on the heels of two historic victories, Chevrolet has released the C7R Edition of its stunningly powerful Z06 Corvette. Available in both coupe and convertible versions, the Corvette Z06 C7.R features the same powertrain as a standard Z06, which includes a 650 hp, 6.2 liter supercharged V8 engine mated to 8-speed automatic transmission. With this configuration it’s capable of a 0-60 time of a blistering 2.95 seconds. Just for context that’s quicker than a Ferrari 599XX and the McLaren P1, cars that cost 15-times more than this Corvette.
In addition to a race-bred suspension, Brembo carbon ceramic brakes and Michelin PS Cup 2 tires, the Z06 also features a special carbon fiber ground effects package that generates significant downforce to keep the car plastered to the road as it approaches its 190 mile per hour top speed.
Limited to just 500 units, the Z06 C7.R has a few extra features that let everyone know just how special this Corvette is. It’s available in just two colors: Corvette Racing Yellow Tintcoat or Black exterior. It features a special C7.R Edition graphics package that includes black wheels with yellow accent stripe and Corvette Racing-logo center caps, yellow brake calipers, a new visible carbon fiber hood section, and the grilles and vents finished in Spectra Gray Metallic.
Inside the C7.R sports a Jet Black leather interior with sueded microfiber accents on the instrument panel and doors, Sueded microfiber-trimmed Competition Sport Seat, steering wheel and shifter; yellow contrast stitching throughout the interior, high-gloss Carbon fiber interior trim, Corvette Racing sill plates, and a numbered C7.R Edition interior plaque showing the build number, starting with VIN 700001.
If you want the ultimate in American performance that honors the ultimate American endurance racer, you had better hurry. It won’t be long before all 500 of these Corvette Z06 C7.R edition cars are spoken for.
