At 80, Clint Eastwood appears to have no desire to slow down, much less retire.
The actor and director is going to remake a Hollywood standard, ‘A Star is Born’, with Beyoncé Knowles. The oft told tale is a classic Hollywood melodrama about a fading, drunken/doped up superstar who is eclipsed by his younger wife/lover/protegee.
Eastwood is planning a musical version, and reportedly is looking to get Will Smith to star alongside Beyoncé.
The original 1937 film starred Fredric March and Janet Gaynor, and the 1954 version featured James Mason and Judy Garland.
This will be Eastwood’s first musical.
