After a week of going to some great womenwear shows, I decided to treat myself and check out Civil Society’s menswear presentation. And what a treat it was.
The brand has been around since 2007 so I was familiar with their approach- sexy, well tailored pieces with trims and details that seem to fit the man’s body like a glove. This season was no different. Going for the “bad boy” look, the designer sent out the models in combat boots, oversized hoodies and strong colors like blacks, reds and bright blues.
Don’t worry, this bad boy had a sweet side- ties, bow and otherwise, were thrown in for contrast with plaids and yellows. Details like uncentered zippers went well with fabrics like leather and wool while the knits complimented the fitted denim. Originally what started as clothing inspired by musicians and artists has definitely developed into a refined collection that belongs in every man’s closet.
