Christian Louboutin has collaborated with Sabyasachi Mukherjee to design a capsule collection to celebrate Sabyasachi’s Autumn/Winter 15 Couture Collection. The Parisian designer has highest regard for the renowned Indian fashion designer’s work. This has resulted in a glamorous association on work as well as personal front as Monsieur Louboutin states, “Not only do I admire his work but he is also my friend and I was delighted to be in India for his show!” Entitled “Bater,” in reference to birds of prey, the spirit of Sabyasachi ‘s latest collection is dark, dangerous and predatory. Adding a touch of international fashion with an Indian twist to it, the red soles took the center stage on the catwalk. Both established names in their own right, the duo worked in tandem to put up an exceptional collection for this season’s Amazon India Couture Week. Christian Louboutin and Sabyasachi design team between Paris and India collaborated together to roll out 80 pairs of shoes for the show. For the collection Christian called on the iconic Devibroda, which pays homage to Sita Devi of Baroda, and was constructed with the quintessential Sabyasachi embroidery of acid dyed burnt sequins and tea dyed cotton threads. Each sequin is hand placed and embellished with French knots to create an organic fringe. The sky-high Victoria heel has been embellished with two of Sabyasachi’s strongest and most iconic embroidery styles – burnt zardozi and vintage Parsi gara. For men, Sabyasachi wanted to represent the baroque audacity of India’s erstwhile Maharajas with a European twist. Dandelion was fastened out of the finest quality of parsi gara and adorned with motifs of the paradise flycatcher bird harkening back to the collection’s feathered origins. Christian Louboutin has always been inspired by India’s heritage to create designs like satin embroidered and strassed shoes.Christian Louboutin And Sabyasachi
