When the world’s most sought after female singer and one of the most powerful women makes noise, we have our ears tuned. Bootylicious Beyoncé has joined hands with Frida Giannini and Salma Hayek Pinault for Gucci’s new global campaign for empowerment of girls and women. Chime for Change, founded by Gucci, is a community of people working to promote Education, Health and Justice for every girl, every woman, everywhere.
The foundation is all set to make some real noise with The Sound Of Change Live! The concert is set to go live at London’s Twickenham Stadium on Saturday 1st June. Sharing the stage with Beyoncé are Ellie Goulding, Florence + The Machine, Haim, Iggy Azalea, Jennifer Lopez, John Legend, Laura Pausini, Rita Ora and Timbaland. It is also rumored that Madonna and Jay-Z will up the ante with their presence on stage at the Chime For Change concert.
“I am really happy that so many amazing artists and presenters have come together to support Chime For Change on June 1,” Beyoncé, co-founder and artistic director of Chime For Change, said. She also quoted, “Our goal is to have a great time together while we unite and strengthen the voices of girls and women around the world.”
Salma Hayek Pinault says, “We will shine a spotlight on those who are fighting for education, health and justice for girls and women.”
Frida Giannini, creative director of Gucci adds, “Thanks to Beyonce and the amazing line-up of performers and presenters, the stage at Twickenham on 1 June will be filled with powerful voices of change who believe that girls and women everywhere deserve the right to be educated, healthy, safe and celebrated. The funds we raise will have a major impact on the lives of thousands of girls and women around the world.”
The musical event is underwritten by Gucci to ensure that all ticket sales go directly to projects that improve the lives of girls and women around the world. Every ticket holder will receive a Sound of Change voucher via email with a unique code, which can be used to support a project of their choice.
Estimated to be seen by over one billion people, the concert is going to be broadcast across six continents to over 150 countries.
