This June, one of Cape Cod’s most beloved properties celebrates its centennial. Chatham Bars Inn– which was founded as a luxury hunting lodge and has blossomed to a 217-room resort – has hosted guests from the Dutch Royal family (who lived at the property while they were in exile) to Henry Ford and William Rockefeller.
Of course, the Inn has seen numerous enhancements through the years, including a $100 million top-to-bottom renovation in 2007.
To mark the anniversary – which technically takes place June 9th – the resort is celebrating with centennial rates and packages as well as a series of on-property events and promotions, ranging from a Roaring 20s ball to ice cream socials, throughout the year.
The social media hashtag #CBI100 will document all of the festivities.
“Chatham Bars Inn is that rare place that invites guests to take a nostalgic step into a simpler era while providing every modern comfort they expect in the 21st century,” said General Manager Paul Zuest. “Our owners – and there have been only three since 1914 – have shepherded the resort with great care through the years and have brought us to this historic moment. One hundred years after Chatham Bars Inn first opened, we can reflect proudly on an extraordinary past and look forward to an uncommon future.”
