The famous Parisian brand is launching a beauty capsule collection, inspired by the Château de Versailles, the location of this year’s Chanel Cruise collection.
Created by Chanel beauty legend Peter Philips (the Belgian is global creative director of Chanel makeup), the collection is inspired by the famous palace of the French monarchy, the Château de Versailles (located to the west of Paris).
Packaged in the classic Chanel compact box, the concealer (€58) is designed to transfer the pomp and splendor of life in the royal household into modern life, and is embossed in relief with an architectural detail from the famous Château. Pink lipstick (€29.50), eyeshadow (€27) and blusher (€37) complete the collection.
Philips styled the girls in the Cruise show with a Chanel logo beauty spot on the cheek, for a right royal effect. Applied heavily around the eyes, and as a subtle cloud of powder on the cheeks, the pink tones lift the face, adding freshness and light.
The nail varnish is a transparent pastel (€22), designed to leave a more subtle touch. In fact, nude nails are having a bit of a moment, with Serge Lutens’s pricier Faux Semblant product also on the shelves for those looking to go even more luxurious.
The Chanel Versailles collection will be released on December 1, 2012 this year and is exclusively available in the Chanel stores on rue Cambon and Avenue Montaigne in Paris.
