We’re live from #CES2015 in Las Vegas this week, otherwise known as the International Consumer Electronics Show. More than 160,000 people each year attend this tech-focused preview that showcases the very best new devices and technologies from up-and-coming and established brands alike. The show takes over this city — this year, there’s more than 2.2 billion square feet of exhibit space! Pursuitist is here to capture all of your luxury tech news, offering day-by-day recaps right here on the blog.
Here’s what’s happened already … and the show hasn’t even started yet:
Sony Relaunches the Walkman
The brand announced a new Walkman NW-ZX2 with a hefty price tag ($1200) that promises 128GB storage and a touchscreen display. Honestly? We can’t get that excited. We’ll plug in our phones and get a really great set of headphones.
Audi Has a Self-Driving Car
This one is pretty cool. Audi is taking its development car, a self-driving A7, on a road trip from San Francisco to Las Vegas. The total? 550 miles. They tried (and failed) at this last year, but we know at least this year the car made it into the state of Nevada.
Samsung Gets Really Excited About the Internet of Things
Samsung gave the opening keynote, and BMW is in on the action – they also have a self-driving car that can be synced with a Samsung tablet. Samsung is also all about, well, all of its products, including a TV they promise can give a “personalized morning briefing,” out later this year.
Soul Cycle Gets in on the Action
Beloved fitness brand, known equally for its fat-blasting spin workouts and its cadre of celebrity devotees, announced a last-minute pop-up at The Cosmopolitan, where attendees can register by, what else, Twitter.
Stay tuned! We’ll have an update each day this week.
