Canadian Whiskey has often taken a second-tier status amongst whiskey aficionados. It is seen as thin and bland by many. Without character.
That brings us to Caribou Crossing Single Barrel Canadian Whiskey. Made by the folks at Buffalo Trace Distillery, we were surprised by the almost orange color of the spirit. Not sure what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised. To the nose, Caribou Crossing was light and sweet with hints of caramel and vanilla. The taste was even better – rich, creamy and smooth.
Since launching in 2010, Caribou Crossing has received numerous awards, including a 93 rating from the Whiskey Advocate, a double gold medal at the 2010 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and more.
We recommend Caribou Crossing for those who enjoy their whiskey to be rich and smooth. It’s an especially good whiskey to share with non-whiskey drinkers.
A bottle of Caribou Crossing Single Barrel Canadian Whiskey will run you about $50. We recommend you have one around the home for the right occasion.
