For this year’s holiday season, the French luxury label is rocking a beauty look that shimmers and shines with seasonal sparkle with its “Sparkle Clash” makeup collection.
Yves Saint Laurent is standing out from the beauty crowd this year with a makeup collection that’s both fun and sexy, switching traditional sophisticated holiday beauty for a glamourous and quirky look with a rock ‘n’ roll edge.
From the packaging to the selection of shades, the brand offers an explosion of shimmer and shine to sparkle your way through the holiday season.
For YSL Beauté creative director of makeup, Lloyd Simmonds, the idea for this exclusive look came from a desire to rethink the outdated trend for holiday makeup that’s overly polished, too “done.”
Simmonds sought to put fun and glamour back into the occasion and make holiday makeup much easier to apply. That way, it can be as fun to wear as it is to put on.
All-in-one palette
For a seasonal beauty boost at any time of day, YSL’s “Multi-Usage Palette Collector Sparkle Clash Collection” is a practical and creative all-in-one for eyes, face and lips. It comes in a silver and gold sparkling case for a festive touch of bling.
The palette features a highlighter in pink and gold, bringing an instant brightening effect to cheeks. It has four shimmering eyeshadow shades in plum, bronze, gold and metallic pink, and two lip colors, with a tone-on-tone pink and a tinted red.
Stars and glitter
YSL has paid particular attention to the packaging for this collection. The “Rouge Pur Couture Collector Sparkle Clash Edition” lipstick, for example, comes in a gold and silver glitter case and sees its lip-color stick imprinted with stars. It comes in two exclusive shades for holiday 2016: a pinky red and a dark pink shade.
To complete this festive look, Yves Saint Laurent has reworked the packaging of its iconic “Touche Eclat,” with a glittery gold and silver case. On the inside, the product is its usual much-loved self, the perfect partner for a flawless and luminous complexion.
The “Sparkle Clash” makeup collection is due out this fall from YSL retailers and at yslbeauty.com.
