The Denver Post’s ‘Captured’ series of photos is some of the best you’ll find on the web. That includes this amazing series Captured: America in Color from 1939-1943. It features images by photographers of the Farm Security Administration/Office of War Information, and are some of the only color photographs taken of the effects of the Depression on America’s rural and small town populations. Its an amazing and vivid portrait of America.
Take some time to look at the other photos on the site – they are fabulous. You’ll find an assortment of collections, including rare photos from the Pacific Theatre in WWII, color photography from Russia in the early 1900s, seven years of the Afghanistan War, and much more.
