Pacific Merchants makes products from Acacia trees. The Acacia wood bowls they produce are hand turned from one solid piece of hardwood, and not laminated. They are made from is a fast growing wood species, and Pacific Merchants refers to their products as ecologically forested’ – with a harvesting method of the Acacia tree that is sustainable in that the tree is cut so the base and roots remain intact for re-growth.

From their Acaciaware is this Calabash Bowl – it is 12″ wide and 4″ deep. The Acacia wood is a dense, naturally resinous hardwood which (by its very nature) resists penetration by water and will not stain. It makes for a beautiful, useful and sustainable piece of kitchenware.

Cost is about $50-60.
