Friday evening at Barrett-Jackson’s Hot August Nights auction in Reno, the 2014 Cadillac CTS V-Sport we featured recently on Pursuitist sold for $120,000. All the proceeds from the sale were donated to the SAE Foundation.

The SAE Foundation is the charitable arm of the Society of Automotive Engineers International, and encourages student participation and achievement in science, technology, engineering and math. Cadillac donated production model number 001 of its redesigned high-performance luxury sedan to raise awareness and money for the effort.

The 2014 CTS V-Sport features a longer, lower design, 420 horsepower Twin-Turbo V6 engine, available Magnetic Ride Control suspension damping system, and other enhancements that are squarely aimed at making the car competitive with the BMW 5-Series sedan.
