Billionaire and politician Donald Trump’s opulent mansion at the 21 Vista Drive in Greenwich, Connecticut, is up for sale at a whopping $45 million. It is a 22,000-square-feet Georgian colonial house built in the year 1939, comprising eight bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, a rotunda foyer, living area and few other rooms which can be used according to the owner’s wish for dining and several other purposes.
Trump, the real estate magnate, bought the mansion in 1982, and the house was refurbished by his then-wife Ivana, who upped its ante with huge chandeliers and a generous amount of gold.
The double-door entrance of the house opens to a lavish three-storey rotunda foyer with a double staircase. Finishing the complete look of the foyer is a magnificent chandelier that seems like its crown.
The stairway leads you to an expansive living and dining room decorated with antique fireplaces, flamboyant plaster mouldings and oak-wood doors.
Spread across six acres of land, the property is nestled between the blue waters of Long Island Sound. Almost each room in the estate enjoys a view of either the pool, tennis court or the manicured lawns through its beautiful French windows.
The house features a 22-seat private theatre, sauna, indoor lap pool and an elaborate 4,000 square-feet guest suite. It also boasts of multiple terraces and patios, an outdoor swimming pool and boat docks.
Originally built in 1939 for Robert Hillas, president of the Super Heater Company in New York City, the 19,773-square-foot Georgian Colonial main house and guest house have eight bedrooms, thirteen baths, a three-story rotunda foyer with double grand staircase, formal rooms and views of Long Island Sound. Also included in the sale is a home theater, putting green, multiple terraces and patios, tennis courts and three fully-equipped staff apartments.
Awaiting a new Greenwich billionaire resident, Donald Trump’s former Connecticut mansion with major additions, six waterfront acres and a private boat dock is on the market. The listing agent is Tamar Lurie of Coldwell Banker in Greenwich, Connecticut.
