Restoring taste and civility to long-haul air travel, the all-business-class boutique airline La Compagnie has debuted flights between London (London Luton Airport / LNN) and New York (Newark Liberty International Airport / EWR) starting at $1715 per round-trip.
The French startup company wants to revolutionize business-class air travel by offering luxury services at premium economy prices. Previously only offering flights between Paris and New York, co-founders Frantz Yvelin and Peter Luethi seek a competitive edge through low prices for superior service. Inflight features include spacious lie-flat seats;Samsung Galaxy Tablets preloaded with movies, newspapers, games and books; Caudalie cosmetic amenity kits; French cuisine by Michelin-starred Chef Christophe Langrée accompanied by fine cheeses, premium liquors and French wines. La Compagnie’s two Boeing 757-200s, both in baby-blue livery, feature 74 lie-flat seats in a 2×2 configuration.
La Compagnie, which launched service in July 2014, is an all business-class airline offering regularly scheduled transatlantic flights between New York (Newark) to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) and London (Luton). The airline formed in October 2013 by Frantz Yvelin, founder of the former L’Avion business-class airline, which offered premium service between Newark and Paris, and Peter Luethi, co-founder and deputy CEO, a former Swissair and Jet Airways chief operating officer.
