Shoppers at Saks Fifth Avenue can not only feel the festive season but also smell it intensely as Bond No. 9 has launched a limited edition fragrance. Dubbed, Saks New York Oud, the fragrance is exclusive to the department store this season.
Limited to just 500, more than 150 bottles flew off the shelves, the day it was introduced (21st December). Selling for $405, the star-shaped bottle is ornamented with Swarovski crystals to woo shoppers with its looks too. However Laurice Rahme, founder and owner of Bond No. 9 New York, suggests that the latest edition of Oud is New York-centric and not only/actually meant for the gifting season. With Saks Fifth Avenue written all over it, this dynamic fragrance contains notes of Saffron, Nutmeg, Rosewood, Jasmin, Amber, Musk & Vanilla.
Oud has come out of the closets of Middle East and Asia and has gained popularity in the West. It is highly valued by perfumers for its sweet, woody, aromatic and complex scent.
Laurice Rahme, founder and owner of Bond No. 9 New York, told WWD: “It’s not really oud for the holidays. It’s oud for New York.”
