“Sell me a house, Mr. Piano Man…” or “Good luck movin’ up ’cause I’m movin’ out!” Romance has soured the homes of Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Billy Joel. The Piano Man is selling a pair of adjacent homes in the Hamptons for $35 million after a split from third wife, 23, Katie Lee Joel.
The bigger of the two homes once belonged to the late “Jaws” actor, Roy Scheider. Joel bought it for his newlywed wife in 2004. He also purchased a bungalow on adjacent property in 2007.
Billy and Katie Lee Joel announced they were separating in June after five years of marriage Real estate agent Biana Stepanian says the larger home is selling for $22.5 million and the bungalow is selling for $12.5 million.
The area near the eastern tip of Long Island is the summer home of some of the world’s wealthiest business leaders and celebrities, including Steven Spielberg, Jerry Seinfeld and Paul Simon.
