French actress Bérénice Marlohe is the sexy new Bond Girl. Born May 19th, 1979, in Paris, France, Bérénice plays Bond girl “Sévérine” in the twenty-third James Bond film, Skyfall, opening this weekend. Her television credits include Père et Maire, Femmes de loi, and Equipe médicale d’urgence. She is currently filming the French comedy Un bonheur n’arrive jamais seul with Sophie Marceau, a former Bond girl herself. Bérénice is also a brand ambassador for Omega Watches.
Bérénice says of her character “Sévérine”: “She is mysterious: good, evil, adventurous. I had to give her a lot of substance and charisma, and the sexiness came from that.”
Bérénice now joins a long line of famous actresses who have previously starred in a James Bond movie, including Halle Berry, Gemma Arterton, Rosamund Pike and Famke Jansen
And the actress revealed she doesn’t think it’s a bad thing to carry the ‘Bond girl’ label.
“Well why not, it’s a great honour,’ she said. “I always felt very connected with the Bond movies and the Bond music – the orchestration is powerful – and I’ve always felt that, so it’s an honour actually.”
