Bentley, one of the most venerable luxury performance brands in automotive history, has no intention of living in the past. That is clearly evident in the new EXP 10 Speed 6 Bentley debuted at the Geneva auto show.
Saying that the EXP 10 Speed 6 is a, “vision for Bentley’s future – a powerful, exquisite and individual concept. The showcar has the potential to be the new pinnacle luxury two-seat sports car.” Bentley Motors chairman Wolfgang Dürheimer made it clear that this gorgeous two-seat sports coupe has the very real possibility of becoming the next new model to roll off the assembly line at Crewe.
Looking resplendent in British Racing Green, the EXP 10 is unmistakably a Bentley both inside and out. Beginning with the matrix grill and round head lights, through its sinuous side profile to the ocular tail lights and exhaust tips, it picks up where the Continental leaves off and takes the expression of performance to a whole new level.
Inside the quilted leather seats and mix of modern technology with classic design are exactly what you’d expect to find in a high performance Bentley (wait, that’s a bit redundant seeing as all Bentleys offer incredible performance). But again this car takes it to another level. The bucket seats are deep and supportive. The long, narrow touch screen in the center console promises a more expansive nav view and richer information portal. And the cozy confines hint at a level of performance yet to be achieved in a Bentley coupe, which is saying a lot.
While Bentley have not given any specific information on the powerplant, it’s clear the EXP 10 Speed 6 will take a different approach to making horsepower than its older siblings. Eschewing the big block W12 and V8 for a hybrid system similar to those in the LaFerrari, McLaren and Porsche 918, we can only assume this will shatter the 0-60 performance of the current Continental line.
No production timeline is set, but the EXP 10 Speed 6 will be in New York at the end of the month where we will get a first hand look and bring you more details about this stunning concept.
