Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War has assembled the biggest box office opening ever.
Infinity War and Thanos dominated the domestic box office record, bringing in an estimated $250 million domestically this weekend. That makes the Avengers the biggest opening weekend ever, beating out the $248 million that Star Wars: The Force Awakens made in 2015. Both Star Wars and Marvel are from Disney.
Worldwide, the Avengers continue to smash records, making an estimated $630 million at the global box office for its opening weekend, besting the previous record holder, The Fate of the Furious.

“Disney masterfully combined all of the separate elements of the Marvel brand and brought them together in an enormous and irresistible epic popcorn movie,” said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at comScore.
Infinity War is certified fresh with an 84% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 93% audience approval rating.
