No reservations indeed for Anthony Bourdain. The former chef is going to debut a new travel show which he describes as a “hyper-caffeinated, utilitarian take” on his usual escapades. The new travel show will be called The Layover — and Bourdain will be showing off a city within 24 to 48 hours and giving viewers insider tips on the ‘must-see’ places, people and foods that take travelers off the ordinary tourist path.

“We are well aware that many of the meals and experiences on ‘No Reservations’ are, frankly, impossible to duplicate,” he said.

“This is a chance to show viewers the secrets of Tony’s traveling routine: cracking open the essence of each city, getting right to the marrow of every experience, and making the most out of every moment,” said Fred Graver, senior vice-president of programming and development on the Travel Channel. “…This series will inspire the occasional traveler and surprise even the most seasoned traveler.”

The 10-episode, one-hour series on The Travel Channel will debut late fall.
