Dannielynn Birkhead, the six-year-old daughter of the late Anna Nicole Smith, is following in her mother’s footsteps as the newest Guess model. Birkhead, who is only six-years-old, has been selected as the new face of Guess Kids for its spring 2013 ad campaign. According to Guess Inc.’s creative director Paul Marciano, Birkhead possesses the “same playful spirit” as her mother did on set years ago.
Birkhead is “a second-generation Guess girl, which makes this campaign a first for us,” Marciano said.
The Guess Kids ads were photographed by Elliston Lutz on a beach in Malibu and are set to drop in mid-January. Babyface’s daughter Peyton Edmonds will also appear in the ads.
Guess first debuted Nicole Smith in 1992, when the buxom blonde appeared in ads for sexy denim jeans throughout the next year. Before her Guess debut where she replaced Claudia Schiffer, she modeled for Playboy magazine.
And according to the blossoming model’s father, Larry Birkhead, Anna Nicole’s daughter wants to be just like her mother.
“Dannielynn had fun paying tribute to her mom with the Guess ad campaign, but it is back to school for her which is her focus,” Birkhead, 39, told Entertainment Tonight during a video of the shoot. “The first thing she asked is ‘When will I be on the shopping bags like Mommy?'”
“I know that Anna’s looking at this and seeing how great this will be,” he said.
Anna Nicole Smith died in February 2007 when she was 39-years-old. Larry Birkhead obtained custody of their daughter, who was only five months old when her mother was found dead of a drug overdose.
