The film by Ridley Scott would focus on the 1995 killing of fashion magnate Maurizio Gucci.
Angelina Jolie has made a career of portraying femmes fatales, though perhaps never before in such a literal sense. The Oscar-winning actor is in talks to play Patrizia Reggiani, the woman jailed for ordering the 1995 killing of her ex-husband, fashion magnate Maurizio Gucci. Jolie would be working with director Ridley Scott, who has been planning the project since at least 2007. Scott has also approached his Body of Lies star Leonardo DiCaprio to play Gucci, though the actor is not yet attached. Reggiani was jailed for 29 years in 1999 for her part in the killing of her ex-husband, although she claimed she was involved against her will. “I have been naive to the point of stupidity,” she said before being sentenced. Her story was that her personal psychic, Pina Auriemma, had first made contact with the killers and then blackmailed her into going along with the plot. Auriemma was sentenced to 25 years. – From Guardian
