Lake Shore Drive’s only hotel has just had a luxurious new update. W Hotels has just completed a $38 million renovation of the W Chicago –Lakeshore, and we can’t wait to visit in person.
All of the hotel’s 520 guestrooms got a top-to-bottom makeover, with a focus on the property’s lakefront locale. Soft tones let the views ‘pop’ and creative touches like in-room chandeliers add a touch of W’s signature glam.
As part of the renovation, a new restaurant, CURRENT, is now open with Executive Chef Gregory Elliott (previously of Ambria and Lockwood in Chicago) at the helm. “Pair our made-in-house pastas, pizza and salumi with our hand-crafted Italian cocktails, boutique wine list and array of local microbrews, and you can’t go wrong,” he says.
The public spaces also got a facelift, including W’s signature Living Room lobby, which now features a DJ booth in the center of the room. New meeting and event spaces, including two rooftop areas with lake views, were also added.
