During Miami Art Week 2018 , 1 Hotel South Beach, Platinum House was open exclusively for Platinum Card Members from Thursday, December 6th– Saturday, December 8th.
The house featured exclusive experiences including complimentary food & beverage, morning fitness classes by Equinox, live drawing performance and installation by Sougwen Chung curated by Platinum Collective Member Julia Kaganskiy, the Little Cabana lounge and programming by Platinum Collective Member Audrey Gelman of the The Wing. Late-night food trucks by Global Dining Collection Chef José Andrés to the Wynwood and Design Districts were also provided.
Platinum House was also the exclusive retailer to launch TOGETHER CALIFORNIA X David Bowie “Stardust” Collection, introduced to American Express by Platinum Collective Member and founder of Just an Idea, Sarah Andelman.
On December 7, Zahay Chef Michael Solomonov, member of the American Express Global Dining Collection and executive chef of The Centurion Lounge at PHL, hosted an exclusive dining experience benefiting Young Audiences Arts for Learning on the Platinum House private beach at 1 Hotel South Beach for Platinum Card Members and guests of American Express. The Israeli-inspired menu featured items such as chicken shishlik with amba, tehina and cabbage and branzino with cucumber, tzatziki and Asian pear – and specialty Platinum Heat cocktails. Notable attendees: Helena Christensen, Ally Hilfiger, Platinum Squad Members Flaviana Matata and Hannah Bronfman.
Card Members also enjoyed a special performance on the beach with Pharrell Williams on December 8th, 2018, with proceeds from ticket sales directly benefitted Young Audiences Arts for Learning. Notable attendees included: Venus Williams, Jonboy, Joan Smalls, DJ Ruckus, Ally Hilfiger, Hannah Bronfman, Flaviana Matata, Tash Oakley.
