Alicia Keys may have her fingers in too many pies, but that hasn’t stopped her from becoming the face of Givenchy’s newest fragrance. The Grammy Award-winning singer looks glamorous in her debut beauty campaign for Dahlia Divin.
The artist credits her first beauty modeling assignment to her friendship with Givenchy creative director, Riccardo Tisci. Speaking of her relationship with him, Keys spoke to WWD, “Spiritually we’re a lot alike. The fashion world can make you a little soulless. So when I met him, it was nice to see that he’s really soulful.” She also added that,“As time passed, [this fragrance campaign] came to fruition. I love what Givenchy is about. Givenchy is this timeless, chic, but very strong woman, but with an edgier, almost street feel. I love that she’s raw, but she’s powerful — and that’s who I believe I am, too.”
Singing praises of Dahlia Divin, the superstar also noted, “This scent is grounded, but still has a femininity that is very earthy, and I love that.” Dahlia Divin concept celebrates women as modern-day goddesses and is developed in-house by Givenchy perfumer François Demachy. Combining notes of jasmine, mirabelle plum, patchouli, vetiver and sandalwood, it will be available in three sizes (30 ml. for $65, 50 ml. for $90 and 75 ml. for $110) in stores including Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, Dillard’s and Sephora in the US.
Looking stunning in a Tisci-designed strapless gold gown with slicked back hair, Keys posed for Tim Walker in a Parisian atelier for the campaign. She has also composed the music for the TV spots.
