28-year old British model Alexa Chung will launch her first own fashion line, fashion magazine Numéro Tokyo has revealed.
In an interview with Japanese fashion magazine, Alexa said: “Yes, I’m definitely going to do that. I’m looking into it right now. I’ve got nothing to lose, it’s a bit of fun. In this current era of celebrity no one believes you actually design the stuff anyway, even though I sketch everything myself. So if it sucks I can say I had nothing to do with it, and if it’s really good I can say ‘Here are the drawings, it’s all my own work’!”
The 28-year-old model and television presenter, who has been named Britain’s top style icon for two years running at the British Fashion Awards, has become a true “it girl” with this latest news.
A face of Pepe Jeans and Vero Moda, Chung has also created a collection for American brand Madewell and has her own namesake handbag, the “Alexa,” in Mulberry’s range. Chung has not yet revealed a specific launch date for her line.
