George Clooney is set to marry British lawyer Amal Alamuddin on September 27, at a private wedding ceremony in Venice. And as with most high-profile Hollywood weddings, this one too is expected to be an intimate affair. But it will be an extravagant one.
Here are five facts you must know about the upcoming Clooney-Alamuddin wedding:
Location, Location
While the destination is Venice, speculation is rife that the ceremony will take place at 11am at the Ca’ Farsetti Palace by the waterfront, while guests (said to be around 60) will be put up at the Aman Canal Grande Hotel.
Wedding Ensembles
Alamuddin is a fan of Oscar De La Renta, but she was recently spotted at the Alexander McQueen HQ in London, making us wonder if royal wedding dressmaker Sarah Burton will design her gown too. As for the groom, once tagged Sexiest Man Alive, George Clooney will wear a well-fitted tuxedo designed by his friend, Giorgio Armani.
Hollywood Guest List
Reportedly restricted to only 60, the exclusive guest was leaked, and included names like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Meryl Steep, Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon and Ellen Barkin, with a special performance by Lana Del Ray.
The Rehearsal Dinner
The setting for the rehearsal dinner the night before the nuptial ceremony is the five-star Belmond Hotel Cipriani. We wonder where the dinner will be held – at their fine dining restaurant, Oro, or chic water-view diner, Cips Club.
In High Spirits
Also being served at the wedding is George Clooney’s very own tequila brand, Casamigos, cartons of which were seen arriving in Italy on his best friend and business partner, Rande Gerber’s private jet.
