5 Luxe Restaurants to Visit for NY Restaurant Week

 

With NY Restaurant Week beginning on July 24th to August 20th, and over 500 restaurants to choose from, here are five of our favorite restaurants that should be on your radar:

 

Rosewood Carlyle Hotel

Dowling’s at The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel

An Upper East Side icon, Dowling’s at The Carlyle will be be highlighting the flavors and colors of summer with Executive Chef Sylvain Delpique three-course prix-fixe dinner menu ($60 pp), and the two-course prix-fixe lunch menu ($45 pp). The preview menu started July 5, and some menu highlights include:

Lunch:

  • To Start: White Gazpacho (almond, green grapes, verjus)

  • Main Course: Iceberg (O.M.G grilled chicken skewer, blue cheese, heirloom tomato, crispy onions, buttermilk ranch)

  • Dessert: Crème Fraîche Panna Cotta (macerated grapefruit, grappa)

Dinner:

  • To Start: Painted Hill Beef Carpaccio (parmesan, truffle aioli)

  • Main Course: Salt Baked Branzino (grilled asparagus, lemon butter)

  • Dessert: New York Cheesecake (peach, caramelized buckwheat)

Gotham 

A New York City staple, Gotham has been around for nearly four decades.  If you haven’t been since the reopening in November 2021, you will be pleased with new lighting, newly curated rotating artwork, a library lounge and Chef Ron Paprocki’s beautiful and inventive cuisine. For restaurant week, Gotham will be serving a $45 two-course lunch with highlights including duck rillettes, chilled pea soup, mussels mariniéres, and branzino.

Benjamin Prime 

Family owned and operated Benjamin Prime has been a revered New York City destinations for business travelers, locals and celebrities since it was founded in 2006. The old school, luxurious steakhouse combines classic steakhouse fare, fresh seafood, premium service and a unique ambiance for the ultimate dining experience. Slava

This brand new modern Ukrainian restaurant and cocktail bar in SoHo with Chef Pavlo “Pasha” Servetnyk (Winner of Ukraine’s MasterChef: The Professionals in 2019) helming it’s kitchen, and Beverage Director Nazar Hrab creating a global wine list with a selection of rare, allocated wines that are available at just a few auctions each year as its base. Don’t miss out on the Slava Apple-tini (vodka, melon liqueur, apple, and lime) and the Raspberry Martini. For restaurant week, Slava will be serving a $45 three-course dinner for restaurant week with highlights including:

Starters

  • Ukrainian Caprese Salad: Tomato, Brinza cheese, dill, cilantro, chervil, chives sorbet, and homemade roasted sunflower oil.
  • Varenyky Dumplings (Choice of):
    • Potato Varenyky with Pork Fat: With sour cream.
    • Chicken Varenyky: With sour cream and mushroom mousse.
    • Fermented Cabbage Varenyky: With sour cream and mushroom mousse.
    • Lazy Varenyky (“Ukrainian Gnocchi”): Cottage cheese, sour cream, dill butter, brinza cheese, porcini mushroom, and oyster mushroom.

Main

  • Duck Leg: Duck jus, served with potato gratin.
  • Fried Chicken Kyiv Sandiwch: With homemade aioli sauce and hot sauce, served with roasted potatoes.

Dessert

  • Cherry Varenyky: Sour cream, cherries, and raspberry sauce.

Try out downtown chic Michelin-recognized Modern Hawaiian restaurant from Chef/Partner Chung Chow (Per SeLincoln Ristorante) for restaurant week. noreetuh will be offering a $45 three-course prix fixe menu for restaurant week, with an optional two course wine pairing for an additional $28. The wine list was curated by Managing Partner Jin Ahn (Per Se, Jungsik) and has been awarded Wine Spectator’s Best Award of Excellence each of the last two years. Artisanal Hawaiian-inspired and re-imagined tiki cocktails will add ambiance to the eclectic menu, incuding SPAM and fried chicken.
