Don’t worry – we’re sure the snow is coming. But if you just need a winter wonderland to get yourself in the spirit of the season, Pursuitist has found a perfect place for you to ‘snow-in’ in style.
This holiday, Dream Hotels has decked the halls with much more than boughs of holly and twinkling lights. Both Dream Midtown and Dream Downtown give you a glimpse of the merriment and magic; you’ll step right out of the concrete jungle and right into a glittering snowscape… or Santa’s Workshop!
In the heart of the Meatpacking District, Dream Downtown has been transformed into Dream Lodge Manhattan’s only ski lodge this winter for holiday revelers. Enjoy Adirondack chairs draped in fur throws, log stools to rest your steaming beverages, and modern cabin-in-the-woods decor. If you get too tempted to take that antique toboggan off the back wall, perhaps you can just pose for a few more photo ops with Dream Midtown’s animated snowflake backdrop and candlelit birch logfire.
The lobby lounge and bar area received a rustic ski lodge makeover as well — a perfect setting for snuggling with a cup of Abuelita’s Cocoa (trust us!).
Whatever the weather outside, a peek through the lobby’s floor-to-ceiling windows always shows hand-painted snowcapped mountains, fresh flakes from a snow machine, and a log porch swing to keep the fantasy going in full force.
In the heart of Midtown, on the other hand, Dream Midtown revels in everyone’s favorite childhood memory: a Holiday Toy Workshop. In tribute to the closing of FAO Schwartz, the lobby features an oversized stuffed teddy bear and dance mat piano alongside oversized gift boxes crowding floor-to-ceiling pillars, Nutcracker soldiers wrapped around light fixtures dangling on high, and a giant red ribbon bow around a mesmerizing two-story fish tank.
We’ll bet visions of snow and sugarplums are dancing in your head.
