We now have more details of the stunning 2014 SLS AMG Black Series Coupe from Mercedes-Benz that debuted at the L.A. Auto Show in 2012. Available in showrooms in August, the SLS is the most powerful AMG high-performance automobile with a combustion engine and will have a suggested retail price of $275,000.
With a 6.3 liter V8 engine that generates 622 bhp and a curb weight of just 3,616 pounds, the SLS AMG coupe boasts one of the highest power to weight ratios in the category. This awesome power is delivered through an electronically-controlled AMG rear-axle differential lock and the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission that uses dual clutch technology to deliver lightning-quick shift and response times.
The SLS AMG Black Series’ light weight not only improves acceleration with a published zero to 60 time of just 3.5 seconds, but ensures nimble handling and quick, sure-footed stops from the adaptive performance suspension and ceramic brake system. The AMG Aerodynamics package gives the SLS an aggressive look while adding to the vehicle’s handling and driving dynamics.
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series coupe will be available in very limited numbers. If this is the car you’ve been waiting for, you might want to get your order in now.
