The muscle cars of America’s past keep returning – bigger, faster, more powerful than ever.
The latest is the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500.
Ford threw down the gauntlet at the LA Auto Show by announcing that the Shelby will be powered by a thundering 5.8L supercharged V8, boasting 650 horsepower. This will make it the most powerful V8 on the market.
Modifications have been done on almost every parts of the car, including the powertrain, the suspension, the brakes, and aerodynamics. You’ll find new camshaft profiles, cross drilled blocks and heads, a carbon fiber driveshaft and an improved clutch.
Looking for speed? The GT500 will top 200 mph.
No word on pricing or gas mileage.
