Audi has targeted this fall for a release on the 2012 Q3 Crossover – at least in Europe. Audi is still considering the prospects of the Q3 for American consumers.
The Q3 will fit in under the Q5 – both in price and size. The SUV/Crossover Q3 will come in at around $28,000. The larger Q5 runs about $35,000.
The Audi Q3 will compete against other compact crossovers, such as the Mini Cooper Countryman, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and Nissan Juke.
What are the prospects for an appearance by the Q3 in the U.S.? Audi is being tight-lipped at this point. If it does happen, it won’t happen until later in 2012 or 2013. But with BMW and Range Rover introducing similar sized vehicles in the U.S. in the near future, Audi will likely need to add the Q3 to stay competitive.
