The 1957 Ferrari 335 S Spider Scaglietti is expected to fetch over $30 million at auction next month. This classic Ferrari 335 S symbolizes the myth and legend of motorsports in the 1950s. It has rich racing history, winning of the Constructors’ World Championship Title in 1957, the Cuba Grand Prix in 1958 and placing second in the 1957 Mille Miglia. Drivers of this legendary Spider include Peter Collins, Maurice Trintignant, Wolfgang von Trips, Mike Hawthorn, Luigi Musso, Stirling Moss and Masten Gregory.
Car collector Pierre Bardinon bought this vehicle in 1970, and it has remained in his collection every since. Bardinon had it restored to its original configuration in 1981.
This 1957 Ferrari 335 S Spider Scaglietti is also a threat to set the record at the auction block. The current record was set last year when another classic Ferrari sold for $34.6 million.
