Fans of the films “Sleepless in Seattle” and “An Affair to Remember” are being given the chance to write their own romantic storyline atop the Empire State Building in a Valentine’s Day wedding bonanza.
For the first time this year, the iconic New York skyscraper has issued an open invitation for 100 couples to to exchange their ‘I do’s’ on the Observatory’s 86th floor on the most romantic day of the year.
The first 100 couples to register online will be escorted up the building on Saturday morning, February 14, where they will seal their wedding vows one by one in private ceremonies beginning at 8 am.
Newlyweds will exchange their first smooch as husband and wife amid breathtaking scenery, with panoramic 360-degree views of Manhattan.
To be eligible, couples must be over the age of 18 and be in possession of a valid New York State marriage license.
Married couples in possession of a New York State marriage license can also register to renew their vows.
Five couples will win a five-night honeymoon to Aruba’s adult-only Brickell Bay Beach Club & Spa Boutique Hotel.
The Empire State Building played a leading role in classic romantic films such as the 1957 movie “An Affair to Remember” with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr, and “Sleepless in Seattle,” the 1993 film starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.
Not in New York? Couples looking to take their love to new heights can also wed at the CN Tower in Toronto and the Burj Al Arab in Dubai.
