For all those who love a ski holiday in France can carry extra credit cards to splurge at the luxury shopping boom in one of the most popular ski resorts in the Alps. We have already seen Chanel open the doors of its pop-up shop at Courchevel. Next in line is Dior!
The French fashion house, now owned by LVMH, has opened its doors in Courchevel to lure all female skiers and shopaholics with its exclusive collection to suit the season. Open until 10th April 2014, the latest ephemeral outpost is set in snow-filled scenic world. Located within the Cheval Blanc hotel, the store is decked up with wooden walls that look like they’ve been shrouded with a precious frost.
Right in the center of the store is the center of attraction – an artistic installation of mirrors and silver wall panels that resembles a well-designed ice block resonating the collection. Also the 2014 resort collection is set up in a smoky mirror-lined setting which is inspired by the decoration of Raf Simons’ fashion shows for Dior. Along with the icy theme interior even the snowy windows serve as a complementing backdrop to the line up of colourful dresses along with dazzling jewelry collection and other leather accessories. Three bags in brilliant shades of bright pink, midnight blue and beige, or bicolor in red and sable have been exclusively made for this boutique and glamorously stand out against the white décor. Dior buffs will be thrilled to come across the iconic Lady Dior and Diorissimo in an ultra precious crocodile incarnation.
Wanda artists have primed the boutique to appear to be a graceful winter garden with lush foliage white leaves cascading from the ceiling. It is the work of the same artists who designed the Dior Joaillerie store on Paris’ Place Vendôme and reinterpreted the Lady Dior bag in the Lady Dior As Seen By traveling exhibition.
