Disneyland Paris hosted a special fashion show this weekend to continue its extended 20th birthday celebrations featuring some of the fashion world’s top names.
Last year, Disney and Barney’s New York created an animated fashion film, “Electric Holiday,” which took Minnie Mouse on a whirlwind tour of Paris fashion week, complete with plenty of celebrity appearances from the likes of Former Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Naomi Campbell.
Minnie’s latest fashion adventure saw her take a real-life turn down the runway at Disneyland Paris this weekend, dressed in a specially designed outfit created by French fashion house Lanvin. The brand’s creative director, Moroccan-born Israeli designer Alber Elbaz, was also on hand for festivities and appeared on the catwalk himself with his cartoon co-star.
“Walt Disney was the one that actually designed Minnie. It’s the first time an actual designer has come into the picture and designed a dress for her,” Elbaz said.
Models Virgine Ledoyen and Natalia Vodianova were in the crowd for the show, which also featured outfits from London-based brand Sister by Sibling and Italian designer Luisa Beccaria
