Karl Lagerfeld lets his creativity loose and the fashion world faithfully follows. However when the man speaks his mind and lets his tongue loose, the reactions are not the same. Though his words reek of wisdom as well as experience, he has also managed to offend many with his verbal outburst. Never limiting his flow of thoughts or filtering his words, the designer has been entertaining us with his witticism. Karl thanks his stars as he owns up to his habit by quoting, “People are very nice to me, even though I’m known for saying rude things.”
Karl Largerfeld’s wise words that demand our respect –
“The woman is the most perfect doll that I have dressed with delight and admiration.”
“I think that it’s a crime to say you are bored when time is so precious and there are so many things to do in life: read, learn, watch.”
“The best thing to do is dive with your imagination ~ you can never drown yourself.”
“I like the idea of craziness with discipline.”
“Sometimes the best ideas I have are in my bathtub or in my bed or in my dreams early in the morning before waking up … I’m like a TV antennae, I catch it all and do it my way.”
“For every book you buy, you should buy the time to read it.”
“Personality begins where comparison ends. ”
“Why should I stop working? If I do, I’ll die and it’ll all be finished. ‘m lucky to work in the most perfect of conditions. I can do what I want in all kinds of areas. The expenses are not expenses. I would be stupid to stop that. Work is making a living out of being bored.”
Karl Largerfeld’s offensive words that put us off –
“Children are the last thing I want. I hate all children. For other people, it’s fine, but not for me. I was born not to be a family person.”
“Life is not a beauty contest, some [ugly people] are great. What I hate is nasty, ugly people. The worst is ugly short men. Women can be short, but for men it is impossible. It is something that they will not forgive in life – they are mean and they want to kill you.”
“The discussion of fur is childish.”
“If I was a woman in Russia I would be a lesbian, as the men are very ugly. There are a few handsome ones, like Naomi Campbell’s boyfriend, but there you see the most beautiful women and the most horrible men.”
“No one wants to see curvy women. You’ve got fat mothers with their bags of chips sitting in front of the television and saying that thin models are ugly.”
“I get along with everyone except for men my age, who are bourgeois or retired or boring.”
Not known to extend apologies for his loud opinions, most recently he again commented on Adele, whom he had earlier called “a little too fat.” He announced that, “I never said that she was fat, I said that she was a little roundish. A little roundish is not fat. But for such a beautiful girl, after that she lost eight kilo so I think the message was not that bad.”
