Chanel dares to metamorphose the fashion trends as well as the scenario that all are accustomed to expect. Moving on from the supermarket and street protest, the French luxury fashion house has prepped up a garden full of palm trees and banana leaves as well as articulated flowers like mimosas, poppies and lotus flowers which bloom with each passing model.
Inspired by a botanical glasshouse, Chanel’s Spring-Summer 2015 Haute Couture show took place under the glass ceiling of the Grand Palais in Paris. The show opened up with four male gardeners carrying quilted watering cans to water the plants exclusively designed for Chanel.
Chanel’s garden of the moment was created to display the label’s latest creations for the forthcoming season. The models strutted around in the ephemeral Eden of Haute Couture clad in floral themed collection comprising of crystal encrusted tweed jackets, pastel colored suits, midriff-baring tops, short and long A-line skirts, evening gowns and a bridal outfit too. Of course the collection was complete with Chanel’s little black dress.
The outfits were accessorized with wide-rimmed tulle hats, floral beanies, flat leather sock-boots and more. Trust Karl to give haute couture twist to the beanies and he was inspired to make a couture version as he sees everybody wearing them.
There were flowers everywhere and the designer admitted that it took six months to create the hundreds of flowers used in the entire collection.
After starring in Karl Lagerfeld Spring 2015 campaign, Kendall Jenner stole the show on Chanel’s runway too in a sheer crop top and long floral skirt.
